God is made in man’s image and not the other way around. Robert Wright makes a good case for it in “The Evolution of God” (http://www.evolutionofgod.net/) but he cops out by declaring himself a faithhead in the end – I guess so as not to alienate the “religioses” in the market place.
Haymoon, thanks for dropping by. Robert Wright is little different from Durkheim or Robert Bellah – or at least what I can discern from the video.
They tend to go with God being mostly cultural.
