I want to be clear with you. This is Lisbon; lovely isn’t it? A lovely part of Europe. As a European, I can enjoy it as one of the finest examples that I know of a beautiful city.
This is the Lisbon Treaty. It is a fine production of consensual politics, the best that Europe can offer to make complex things a small bit simpler. But it will not give us a better European Union or a better Ireland. This is not a parochial issue.
But there’s a difference between them: you can happily like one and not like the other. FF would have you, as a voter, believe differently.
Goodbye Shane, good luck with the book.
