Three Georges Lee has been in China these last few weeks. While I have not seen him once stepping into or out of a vase or another china receptacle of some description, he’s been frantically and breathlessly telling us that Chinese capitalism is great. So great in fact that they gave a feature role to capitalism to show us how great it is: big screen TVs, young people shopping for Gucci and massive amounts of internet access. (I know lots of access to big internets upsets Damien Mulley so I’ll leave that one to the side for now.) Great, isn’t it?
Here’s Georges Lee talking to a woman in a restaurant.
He’s spending your money, you know, on Kung Pow Chicken.
Next week RTE are sending Bosco on a tour of Appalachian timber mills – with unfortunate consequences.
