…and so little time. With the current coalition government (one might be forgiven for thinking that it is one party government) imploding, not a peep coming from the FAI on Merrion Square on the new management jobs and George W about to launch ‘pre-emptive strikes’ in Iran that the blogs around here would be full of insightful commentary. Personally, I am finding it difficult to maintain a steady stream of nonsense about all things personal and political in the last week or so. This is not because I don’t like ‘blogging anymore or there is little enough to be moaning about or I am not Twenty Major. It is mostly because I do not have the time.
You see, unlike Damien Mulley, the soon to be missed Tom Raftery and others ‘based in Ireland’, I do not have a strict subject matter. Hence the ‘blog has become more of an online diary than a place for information. I am sure if I focussed on a specific subject connected with my work, my interests, Irish political culture or economic theory I would lose some and gain some. I have thought long and hard about ‘blogging about my current work but as this would involve several major compromises at a time when the organisation I work for is itself finding its online feet. I could not comfortably ‘blog about my work without changing the content so fundamentally that it would make my own day to day work more difficult. So I plod along. I am off to the west of the country for a few days so will not be posting again until Wednesday at least.
